In order to better implement the new international education development layout of "bringing in" and "going out" for dual-direction development, and to further promote the "going out" of vocational education, the “Chinese + Vocational Skills” Seminar on High-quality Development of Vocational Education Going Global was grandly held on the morning of November 25, 2024, at the Music Lecture Hall of Henan Polytechnic. The event was co-hosted by Henan Polytechnic and Henan Lianfei Business Information Consulting Co., Ltd, with strong support from the Ministry of Labor and Skills of Ethiopia, the Ministry of Industry, Science, Technology and Innovation of Cambodia, and the Henan Provincial Department of Education. The theme of the conference was "New Landscapes, New Opportunities, New Collaborations," and it brought together government representatives from Ethiopia and Cambodia, leaders from the Henan Provincial Department of Education, as well as leaders and academic elites from colleges both inside and outside Henan Province.

With the deepening of global cooperation on production capacity and the joint construction of the "Belt and Road" initiative, vocational education in China is becoming a new cornerstone of China’s educational openness to thhes were given by Mr. Li Li, Secretary of the Party Committee of Henan Polytechnic; Mr. Haftom Hagos, Advisor to the Minister of Labor and Skills of Ethiopia; and Ms. Wang Huaxing, Director of the Department of International Cooperation and Exchange at the Henan Provincial Department of Education. They elaborated on the important role of vocational education in international exchanges and cooperation, affirmed the strategic sigicance of the "Chinese + Vocational Skills" project in the training of high-quality skilled talents and economic prosperity, and expressed a shared vision for further deepening cooperation between China and Ethiopia.

Project Summary: Reflecting on Achievements and Innovations

After the opening speeches, the first agenda item of the conference was the summary of the first batch of training under the China-Ethiopia "Chinese + Vocational Skills" project.Biruk Kedir, Director-General of the Federal Technical Vocational Training Institute of Ethiopia, briefly introduced the first batch of participating schools and specializations. He expressed gratitude for the efforts of various colleges, which have helped the China-Ethiopia educational cooperation achieve a milestone. He looked forward to more institutions participating in the future.

Following the speeches, Mr. Haftom Hagos, Advisor to the Minister of Labor and Skills of Ethiopia, presented project approval certificates to Nanyang Vocational College of Agriculture and Luohe Medical College, the schools that will soon participate in the second batch of the Ethiopia "Chinese + Vocational Skills" training project, thus marking the new chapter of the project.

Project Launch: A New Chapter with Full Sail

The second agenda item of the conference was the launch ceremony of the China-Cambodia "Chinese + Vocational Skills" project between . This project was initiated by Henan Lianfei Business Information Consulting Co., Ltd, with Henan Polytechnic serving as the Secretariat, and it has received strong support from the Ministry of Industry, Science, Technology and Innovation of Cambodia.

During the launch ceremony, Ms. Xia Xinyan, President of Henan Polytechnic, elaborated on the profound significance of integrating Chinese language and vocational skills. She expressed confidence in the prospects of China-Cambodia cooperation. Mr. Chhea Layhy, Director of the Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises Department of Cambodia's Ministry of Industry, Science, Technology and Innovation, emphasized the project's alignment with Cambodia's national conditions, likening it to a timely rainfall that will help fill the gap in skilled labor, thus contributing to the high-quality development of Cambodia's economy and industries.

The ceremony concluded with guests witnessing the launch of the China-Cambodia "Chinese + Vocational Skills" project. Mr. Chhea Layhy presented project approval certificates to Henan Polytechnic, Henan Technical Institute, Yellow River Conservancy Technical Institute, and Henan College of Transportation. The Secretariat then handed over the "Chinese + Vocational Skills" training base plaque to the Cambodian side, officially launching the China-Cambodia "Chinese + Vocational Skills" project.

Building Bridges: Promoting Chinese-Foreign Cultural Exchange and Cooperation

The final agenda item was the release of the "Silk Road Digital Curriculum Resources Platform." In the digital age, the sharing and utilization of educational resources are of great importance. This platform, specifically created by Henan Lianfei Business Information Consulting Co., Ltd for the "Chinese + Vocational Skills" project, is a comprehensive learning platform that deeply integrates diversified vocational skills education resources. Ms. Xu Na, Project Manager, provided a detailed introduction to the platform's modules and functions. She emphasized the far-reaching significance of the platform as a new window for Chinese-foreign exchanges, which will help promote the sharing and optimization of educational resources and contribute to the creation of a more prosperous educational community.

With this, the conference concluded successfully. Afterwards, under the leadership of Henan Polytechnic, the guests visited the Intelligent Manufacturing School, Digital Creativity and Design School, and the Automotive and Transportation School, where they witnessed the strengths of vocational schools in Henan.
